High Vacuum Grease compound is stiff non-melting grease like Silicone material. It maintains its consistency over a wide temperature range of -400C to 2500C. Its low volatility, very low vapor pressure of the base, chemical resistance, relatively constant consistency over wide temperature range sealing ability, make it an ideal sealant for high vacuum and high pressure systems and sealant-cum-lubricant for chemical processing equipment.
HVG has been found to be resistant to dilute aqueous acids, alkalis and other inorganic Salt solutions. It is unaffected by most vegetable and mineral oils. Many organic compounds and common gases.
HVG compound is not soluble in water, acetone glycol and glycerin. However, it can be dispersed in kerosene, benzene, toluene ethyl ether, carbon tetrachloride, petroleum ethers, and methylene chloride or perchloro ethylene.
